Catch Licorice White - August 22, 2022

Licorice isn't my favorite treat, but this particular snus has always seemed right to me. There are many different licorice products out there, but today we're going to be talking about Catch Licorice White. Swedish Match also makes this in a mini dry portion, as well as a mini original portion. Swedish Match describes this as having a "light tobacco character with clear hints of licorice and salmiak, as well as slightly dried herbs".

Catch Licorice White comes in a white can with a black label. The Catch logo is slightly off-center with the portion format on top, and size underneath. As with most Swedish Match cans, this is a very well done can. The black on white just pops and makes the can look sleek. Each can comes with 24 portions, weighing .9g each, totaling 21.6g. The nicotine content is 8mg/g which is 7.2mg/portion.

When you first open the can, you'll find that classic Swedish Match star formation. You'll then notice a black licorice aroma hit you. It's not strong or overbearing, but just right. Behind that is a mellow tobacco character. The taste is incredible. A black licorice up front, with just a hint of tobacco in the background. This one definitely tastes like it smells. I haven't found any dried herbs in this one, but each person will experience slightly different tastes and smells! These portions will need fluffed up to fit comfortably in the lip, but once they're in, they feel great.

Overall, this is a really well done snus. The licorice blends well with the tobacco and isn't in your face at all. There are a ton of other licorice products out there, but this one is really good. Because there are a ton of other flavors like this out there, if this one isn't for you, don't stress! There are plenty of other options for you to try out!

Catch Eucalyptus White Dry Mini - August 21, 2022

First, let me start by saying that I usually do not use mini portions. They're just not my cup of tea. But I can see the appeal to people, and if this helps someone transition from smoking to a safer alternative, than I'm all for it. I've been using snus for 9 years and this snus has been around for as long as I can remember. Eucalyptus just isn't a super popular flavor in the snus world. Catch makes this snus in both, mini and regular size portions. I think Offroad still makes an eucalyptus snus however, so there's not much in the way of variety of eucalyptus products on the market. Swedish Match describes this as having a "mellow tobacco taste and distinct notes of eucalyptus and mint".

Catch Eucalyptus White Dry Mini (that's a mouthful) comes in a white can with a baby blue label. The Catch logo is off-center with the portion format on top, and size underneath. Being a mini portion means mini can as well! This is a much smaller can than most other cans and fits easily in your pocket. So easily, you can forget it's even there sometimes! Each can comes with 20 portions, weighing .34g each, totaling 6.8g. The nicotine content is 15mg/g which is 5.1mg/portion. These portions are dry mini portions so that's why they're slightly lighter than most others.

When you first open the can, you'll find a cooling menthol, followed by a slight citrusy pine. It's a refreshing aroma. Not too strong, or overbearing, yet not faint either. The taste is very similar to the aroma. You get that cooling presence from the menthol and that refreshing eucalyptus flavor up front. A hint of tobacco in the background ties it all together really nicely. The nicotine content is on the lower end, being a mini portion. So if you're used to regular size portions, this is one you might want to double up on portions.

Overall, this isn't a bad snus. It's not one I can use all the time, mostly because I'm just not a fan of mini portions, but they do make it in a full size regular portion. I tend to keep the full size in stock just in case I'm sick. There's something refreshing about it that makes me feel a little better whenever I have a cold or the allergies are getting bad.
